I Dream of Jeannie: The Lady in the Bottle (1965) (TV)

Synopsis [spoilers]: Captain Anthony Nelson is sent to space on a mission. A problem occurs with the rocket and he has to land on a desert island. He is collecting wood for writing a big S.O.S. on the beach sand when he comes across a strange bottle. From inside it comes a young and beautiful woman, who speaks in an incomprehensible language at first, but later begins to speak in English. He asks her to help the rescue helicopter to find him and it soon appears in the sky and then lands on the island. He decides to leave the genie on the island but she reenters the bottle and rolls up unto some clothes on the beach and is inadvertently taken home with them. Back on the base, CaptainNelson tells the base psychiatrist, Dr. Alfred Bellows, that he had a vision of a beautiful woman who could grant his wishes; Dr. Bellows assures him that that woman represents his mother. Captain Nelson receives the visit of his fiancée, General Stone's daughter Melissa, who sees the genie in the house wearing only Captain Nelson's shirt. She gets very jealous and leaves. Dr. Bellows and General Stone comes to Captain Nelson's house to talk to him and he throws the genie's bottle on the garbage can; he subsequently regrets it but by then it has already been thrown in the garbage truck. Dr. Bellows and General Peterson witness him offering money to the garbage man and fetching the bottle from inside the truck. Captain Nelson decides to tell everything about the genie (aka Jeannie) to the people who work with him, and to show Jeannie as proof, but she refuses to come out of the bottle. He then claims he was joking. The following evening, Jeannie conjures an Arabian Nights show, with dancers and the like, at Tony's house. General Peterson andMelissa drop by unexpectedly, and when Tony asks her to cancel the show she disappears. Tony goes out looking for her but mistakes the neighbor's barbecue smoke for Jeannie's and starts talking to it, under the perplexed gaze of General Peterson and daughter. Peterson wants to go into the house for a talk; by the time they get there, Jeannie has already gotten rid of the Arabian Nights decor and people. Melissa says she understands Tony has been through a lot of stress and forgives him. Later that night, Jeannie sneaks in Tony's bedroom but is expelled from there. She winks at us, and the screen goes black.

Saw it dubbed in Portuguese.
