Synopsis: A family of Jews flees Germany in 1938, establishing itself in a farm in Kenya.
Appraisal: An interesting story, handled with competence, but also with a penchant for convention. Some scenes should be better thought out, in order to avoid a certain phoniness; example: when the cook says goodbye to the girl he advises her to take care of her father because he is still only a child; that does not sound like something such a character would say.
