Synopsis: It shows the life of a man under the viewpoint of the place of his upbringing, a floating temple in a lake.
Appraisal: This film is unnecessarily slow and repetitive. It would have been a somewhat better film had it been excised of, say, 30% of its length. Even so, I do not believe there is much in it that qualifies as a masterwork. Sure, the scenery is stunningly beautiful, but, well, it is just scenery. What happens on that scenery is most of the time not that interesting.
