The Mighty Quinn (1989)

Synopsis: In Jamaica, a police officer investigates a murder and theft. Some powerful people want to pin the crime on the officer's childhood friend. 

Appraisal: This is my second viewing of this film. Basically, this is an entertaining crime story that maintains a good level throughout its entire length. Its Jamaican background adds to the interest, and I think that it does portray the country with affection, although the cast and crew are U.S. The discussion of individual corruption is interesting and unjudgmental, placing it in its social context.
