Riding High (1950)

Remake of Broadway Bill (1934).

Dan is mad about horse racing and not as keen on business management; that preference is not well looked upon by his fiancee and by her father, who gave him one of his companies to run. Dan decides to quit that position and devote all his energies to entering his horse in an upcoming race. His fiancee's sister is his fervent supporter.

Uninspired comedy which provides a view of the insides of race tracking. The plot and sense of humor are very 1930s, which is not exactly a surprise, this being a remake of a 1934 movie. There are a few songs thrown in, which look simply out of place. Shortly put, mostly everything looks out of place and out of time in this movie. The high point of the movie is a cameo by a very famous and very brilliant comedian, who plays someone named only as "sucker" in the IMDB page. His glory days were over by 1950, by he does not look a bit out of place or out of time and never would.
