Based on a play by A.R. Gurney (1st performance 1988).
A man recalls his lifelong friendship with a woman by the occasion of the latter's death.
It doesn't try very hard to hide its stage origins, but it's enjoyable all the same. The text is reasonably well-crafted and the film is well acted and well photographed.
